Syringe Filters, 100/pack

Disposable syringe filters for laboratory sample clarification, sterilization, and HPLC/GC sample preparation. Each filter features a polypropylene housing with Luer-slip inlet and Luer-slip outlet, compatible with standard Luer-slip and Luer-lock syringes. Five membrane materials are available to match a wide range of aqueous, organic, and mixed-solvent filtration needs. All membranes are available in 13mm and 25mm diameter formats with 0.22µm (sterile filtration and bacteria removal) or 0.45µm (particle clarification) pore sizes. Packed 100 filters per box. Single-use only; do not reuse. Maximum operating pressure: 100 psig (7 bar). Discard the first few drops of filtrate during initial use to flush any residual material from the membrane.

MEMBRANE SELECTION GUIDE:
PES (Polyethersulfone) – Hydrophilic. Low protein binding, high flow rate, low extractables. Ideal for aqueous solutions, cell culture media, buffers, and sterile filtration applications.
Nylon 66 – Hydrophilic. Naturally wettable, compatible with aqueous solutions, alcohols, dilute acids, bases, and polar organic solvents. Standard choice for HPLC mobile phase filtration and general aqueous/organic sample preparation.
PTFE Hydrophobic – Hydrophobic. Exceptional chemical resistance to strong acids, bases, and aggressive organic solvents including DMSO, THF, DMF, and chlorinated solvents. Suitable for non-aqueous, corrosive liquid filtration, and gas venting applications.
PTFE Hydrophilic – Hydrophilic. Universal membrane compatible with both aqueous and organic solutions. Recommended for mixed-solvent systems or when solvent compatibility is uncertain.
PVDF Hydrophilic (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) – Hydrophilic. Low protein binding, suitable for protein solutions, biological samples, and tissue culture media. Resistant to repeated autoclaving and oxidizing agents.

DIMENSIONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
13mm: Recommended sample volume <10mL; compatible with 1-10mL syringes
25mm: Recommended sample volume 10-100mL; compatible with 10-60mL syringes
Pore size 0.22µm: sterile filtration and bacteria removal from aqueous solutions and organic solvents
Pore size 0.45µm: particle clarification and prefiltration for HPLC/UHPLC

COMMON APPLICATIONS: HPLC and UHPLC sample preparation; GC sample clarification; sterile filtration of cell culture media, buffers, and biological solutions; removal of particulates from pharmaceutical solutions; environmental water sample preparation; general laboratory sample cleanup prior to analysis.

USAGE NOTES: Single-use only – do not reuse or sterilize for reuse. Compatible with both Luer-slip and Luer-lock syringes; ensure a firm connection between the syringe tip and filter inlet before applying pressure to prevent accidental disconnection during filtration. Maximum operating pressure is 100 psig (7 bar) – do not exceed this limit. Prime the filter with 1-2 mL of sample or compatible solvent before collecting filtrate if sample volume is limited. For aqueous samples, select PES or Nylon 66. For aggressive organic solvents, select PTFE Hydrophobic. For mixed or unknown solvents, select PTFE Hydrophilic or Nylon 66. For protein-containing samples, select PES or PVDF to minimize protein adsorption.
