WSSe Crystals

WSSe is a layered transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) alloy with a van der Waals structure and tunable bandgap and optoelectronic properties. As a mixed chalcogenide, WSSe combines the characteristics of WS₂ and WSe₂, supporting its use in quantum research, optoelectronics, and energy-related applications.

Sample Size Options:
Crystals larger than 10 mm²
Crystals larger than 25 mm²
Crystals larger than 100 mm²

Material Properties:
Layered van der Waals structure
Tunable bandgap (direct or indirect depending on thickness)
spin-orbit coupling
Optical absorption and environmental stability

Crystal Structure:
Hexagonal structure with cleavable layers, used for exfoliation and heterostructure assembly.

Degree of Exfoliation:
Can be exfoliated into thin layers for 2D material studies and device fabrication.

Other Characteristics:
Tunable Bandgap: Exhibits thickness-dependent transitions between direct and indirect bandgaps.
Optoelectronic properties: photoluminescence and quantum yield for optical applications.
Chemical Stability: Resistant to oxidation under inert storage conditions.

Applications:
Optoelectronics: For photodetectors, photovoltaic cells, and light-emitting diodes due to its tunable optical properties.
Quantum Materials Research: For studying spin-orbit coupling, valley polarization, and other quantum phenomena.
2D Material Studies: for exploring heterostructures and interlayer excitonic behavior in van der Waals systems.

Energy Applications: Useful in hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) and other catalytic energy systems.
Sensors: Its sensitivity to environmental stimuli supports gas and chemical sensing applications.
