Potassium Bromide (KBr) is an infrared optical crystal used in FTIR spectroscopy and infrared optical systems. It offers transmission over a broad infrared wavelength range and is used for IR windows, beam splitters, and spectroscopy sample windows.
KBr is hygroscopic and must be handled and stored in dry environments.
