1. Scope and customers
We supply research materials, laboratory consumables, and equipment. These Terms apply unless an accepted written quotation states different terms. If you are acting as a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you order for a university, company, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
2. Research use and product suitability
Unless a listing expressly says otherwise, products are supplied for research and laboratory use only, not for human or veterinary consumption, diagnosis, treatment, food, cosmetics, or household use. You are responsible for checking suitability, risk assessments, safe handling, storage, use, and disposal, and for following safety data and applicable law.
3. Product information and quotations
We take reasonable care with descriptions, images, dimensions, purity, and specifications. Images may be illustrative. Natural and manufactured materials may have reasonable batch variation within the stated specification. Quote-only or custom products are supplied according to the accepted quotation. Unless stated otherwise, a quotation is valid for 30 days and is not an order acceptance.
4. Orders and contract formation
Submitting an order is an offer to buy. An automated acknowledgement confirms receipt, not acceptance. A contract forms when we send an order acceptance or dispatch confirmation, or otherwise confirm acceptance in writing. We may decline or cancel before acceptance if a product is unavailable, a price or description is clearly wrong, payment fails, or legal, safety, export, sanctions, or delivery restrictions apply. Amounts already paid for a cancelled line will be refunded.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are set in pounds sterling (GBP) and orders are processed in GBP. If you browse in another display currency, amounts are shown in that currency at the prevailing rate. The product total and the fixed shipping charge are shown before you place the order. There is no free-shipping threshold. Payment methods are those displayed at checkout; availability may change. Payment must be authorised before dispatch unless an accepted quotation says otherwise. Your bank or card provider may impose its own currency or transaction charges.
6. Delivery
Our Shipping Policy forms part of these Terms. In-stock products are normally prepared within 1–3 business days; quote-only, custom, restricted, or made-to-order products follow the lead time stated in the listing or quotation. Delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree a guaranteed date. For consumers, risk passes when the goods are delivered to you or your nominated recipient, except where you independently arrange a carrier not offered by us. Different terms may be agreed in a business quotation.
7. Consumer cancellation and returns
A UK consumer buying at a distance normally has 14 days after delivery to tell us that they wish to cancel, followed by 14 days to return the goods. Exceptions can apply, including custom-made or personalised goods and sealed goods that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed. The Refund and Returns Policy explains the process, return costs, refunds, and faulty goods. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
8. Faulty, damaged, or incorrect goods
Tell us promptly and provide the order number and reasonable evidence. We will provide the remedy required by applicable law and may offer repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate. Short reporting windows for carrier claims do not remove mandatory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods.
9. Custom and quote-only orders
Custom composition, dimensions, processing, or manufacture begins only after the specification and price are agreed. Consumer change-of-mind cancellation rights may not apply once a genuinely custom-made product is in production, but rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods remain. Deposits, milestones, tolerances, lead time, and cancellation consequences stated in the accepted quotation take priority for that order.
10. International orders and trade controls
You are responsible for import licences, importer details, duties, import taxes, and destination-country requirements unless we agree otherwise in writing. We declare shipments accurately and will not mark commercial goods as gifts or understate their value. We may request end-use or end-user information and refuse or cancel a transaction where required by UK export controls, sanctions, carrier rules, or other law.
11. Liability
Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that law does not permit us to exclude. Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract formed. For business customers only, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, loss of research time, or damage arising from use outside the specification, and our aggregate liability for an order is limited to the amount paid for the affected goods.
12. Site and intellectual property
The site’s text, product data, images, branding, and software belong to Nanostore or its licensors. You may use them to evaluate and purchase products. You must not interfere with site security, misuse accounts, or reproduce substantial site content without permission. Keep account credentials confidential and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data. Transactional messages about an order, quotation, return, or security issue are not marketing messages.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that a consumer may retain any mandatory right to bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom or other jurisdiction where they live.
15. General and contact
If one provision is unenforceable, the others remain in effect. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. Events outside reasonable control may delay performance, but do not remove rights that law makes mandatory. Questions: sales@nanostoreltd.com.
